This November, our short film Maj & Majd was screened at the Nordic Film Days Lübeck. It was featured in the program Life Sentence, which explored themes of aging, cultural exchange, and shared aspirations.
The festival described the film as:
"Maj, who is 88, lives a lonely life in the countryside. She’s kept company by a battalion of stuffed animals and a fish on the wall that sings at the push of a button. A visit by young Majd, from the homecare service, brings a bit of diversion to her everyday life. In steady pictures, the film tells the story of a heartfelt intercultural encounter and exemplifies the best of what caregiving can be."
Samori Tovatt represented Valfisken Produktion at the festival, where the film received a warm reception. We’re proud to share this story of connection, caregiving, and belonging with such an engaged audience.
Thank you to Nordic Film Days Lübeck for having us and to everyone who has supported Maj & Majd. Stay tuned for what’s next!
